We may earn a commission if you buy through links here. It never affects what we recommend. How this works

Teachable no longer has a free plan: Starter is the floor

Teachable no longer offers a free plan. The entry point is Starter at $29 a month billed yearly ($39 monthly). It comes with a 7.5% transaction fee on every sale and room for 5 products. Builder, at $69 yearly ($89 monthly), has no platform fee and allows 10 products. Growth is $139 yearly ($189 monthly) for 50 products. Students are not capped by plan.

Thinkific and Kajabi are also trial-only now, so none of the big three course platforms has a free tier. Teachable gives a 7-day free trial and a 30-day guarantee.

The fee math coaches should know

At about $533 a month in sales, Starter’s 7.5% fee equals the $40 price gap to Builder. Above that, Builder is cheaper every month. At $2,000 in sales, Starter costs $150 a month in fees alone.

What to do: If you expect more than about $500 a month in course sales, start on Builder. The fee is not a rounding error.
