Kajabi retires the Kickstarter plan: $143/mo is the new floor

If you open Kajabi’s pricing page expecting the old Kickstarter plan, it’s gone for new accounts. Kajabi retired it in its January 2026 pricing overhaul. Basic is now the floor: $143 a month billed yearly ($1,716 a year), or $179 month to month. Basic covers 5 products and 2,500 contacts, and email is included. Kajabi says existing Kickstarter subscribers keep their rate for now.

What this changes for coaches

The gap between Kajabi and a course-only platform is real, but smaller than it used to be. Thinkific’s cheapest plan is now Start at $82 a month yearly. Add Kit Creator at $33 for email and you pay $115, against $143 for Kajabi Basic. That is $336 a year. If Kit’s free plan is enough for you, the gap grows to $732 a year.

What to do: New coach on a tight budget? Compare Teachable Starter ($29) and Podia Mover ($42) first. Already on Kickstarter? Do not cancel and re-subscribe. You would lose the grandfathered rate.
